HYmpulsion is a public-private network pioneering renewable hydrogen mobility to connect regions.
It is a pioneer in the infrastructure and development of uses for hydrogen-powered mobility in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes as part of the Zero Emission Valley project. The ZEV project aims to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen-powered mobility, and is one of the most ambitious projects of its kind in Europe. It involves the deployment of over 1,000 fuel cell vehicles, more than 15 recharging infrastructures in the AURA region, and the development of an electrolyser to produce hydrogen using renewable electricity, which will result in zero CO2 emissions.
Hydrogen Light Mobility has received subsidies from the AURA region and Europe for the purchase of 400 private and commercial vehicles. It is available until the end of 2024, and is aimed at businesses, local authorities and associations.
Heavy mobility is being developed largely thanks to the 50 coaches that the region will be deploying over the next 3 years, and the grant application for the Autoroute Hydrogène Alpine project. This project has been launched by a group of partners (AREA, SFTRF, Syndicat Pays de Maurienne and HYmpulsion). The aim of the project is to offer hauliers and shippers a total additional cost of ownership (TCO) of the hydrogen vehicle limited to 20% compared with the diesel equivalent on the Lyon-Turin route. Proposed benefits :
- Subsidy project submitted to ADEME (H2 production, use),
- H2 price guarantee until 2032,
- Motorway toll reductions.
